For 404 years the Philippines were under rule and control of foreign countries until they found their freedom as a country. In 1946 the Islands were granted full independence and renamed Republic of the Philippines. They are 72 years young.

As God began to lead the history lesson I found myself amazed and saddened by this beautiful countries story but also lead to see the hope coming to this country in the coming years.

In 1542 Spanish Claimed the Islands and began their 350 Year Rule. History tells us they burned villages, destroyed crops, raped women. It was their desire to bring their Catholic faith to the people of the Philippines but at the same time forced culture practices to cease. The rich and influential became richer and intermarriages secured the Filipinos wealth for generations. Those in poverty suffered more.

In 1898 the US Takeover and they bring their authority in for another 43 Years. They seem to be more open to the Philippines ruling themselves and in 1907 an assembly is inaugurated under the US and in 1916 they are promised greater authority that will lead to independence. What appears to be more of a partnering role and release into independence still holds dark secrets and terrible memories for this country. The US also burned villages and whole populations imprisoned in concentration camps. It was not until 1935 that a plebiscite approved the establishment of Commonwealth of the Philippines and AGAIN promised independence within 10 years.

But in 1941Japan seizes the Philippines for another 3 years and commit War Crimes and massacres of local people. Though this period of rule was short it was brutal and again the people of the Philippines are under cruel authorities with what I can imagine caused their hope to become diminished. These atrocities are acknowledged in 1951 when a peace treaty with Japan causes them to pay 800 million in reparation payments to the Philippines.

FINALLY in 1944 US Forces retake islands and within 2 years, in 1946 the Islands are granted full independence and renamed Republic of the Philippines. Their promise of independence FINALLY recognized and fulfilled…but not until their people were murdered, raped, abused, taken advantage of. Deep wounding has been caused by this and to this day…generations are affected and we see it every day.

As the history lesson came to a close I sensed God saying something about the time it took for them to find their freedom: 404 years…I felt heaven wanted to speak to the nation of the Philippines with fresh hope and a new kindness they have never experienced. I am excited and in love with what God had to say to these beautiful people.

Please join me and agree with this word and pray Father God’s rich kindness and grace to drench this country, this people and this work that we are honored to be part of to bring NEW LIFE and NEW HOPE for GENERATIONS.

Fathers Heart and Word for the Philippines

“Loveliest of all, dear friends, darlings, companions” It is no longer time to be Ashamed, Ridiculed or Slaves.

For the past 400 years you have been occupied, ruled over and conquered and for the last 72 years you have been trying to find your way on your own. But today I come to tell you with the kindest words and the softest heart that now is the time, the DIVINE PERFECT TIMING PERIOD for you to be free from bondage.

The number 400 in the bible means Divine Perfect Time Period – the time between God fulfilling Abraham’s promise in Isaacs birth to the children of Israel leaving Egyptian bondage. The next 100 years will be a fulfilling season for the nation of the Philippines. Identity found and generations changed!

You see even when slaves are free, they still feel the chains around their ankles, they continue to live less than and default to places in culture and history that are slave like. Their thinking is slave like; undeserving, not worth it and forgotten. But today I say that is not your place anymore!

The Philippines is their own nation that will come into their own identity. You are not called to be “Americanos” in nature or carry on the rules and regulations of the Spanish. No…today I call you to be you.

The Israelites too found themselves in bondage for 400 years but they did leave it all behind and were made free. My promises can be taken seriously. Oh beloved, I am so sorry for the way you have been treated, that you have lost the purpose of your nation and that others tried to conform you to theirs. I want to do an exchange if you are willing…

  • Disappointment for fresh faith to see a new you in me – full of joy, abundance, and provision. (Romans 5:5 –And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.)
  • Hopelessness for a fresh hope that will anchor you and not have you so confused and tossed around by what people say and have done in the past. (Hebrews 6:19 This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.)
  • Shame for honour! You represent a part of me that is beautiful, full of a servants heart like my son and determination. (Isaiah 61:7 For your shame you shall have double; and for confusion, they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land, they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be to them.)
  • Shyness for boldness in all things that represent me like standing for integrity and truth. (2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity but of power, love, and self-discipline.)

Today I speak over you Song of Songs 1:9 and ask you to trust me. Your identity will be formed and you will be a beacon of light to your nation, within your nation and around the world. I chose you, I love you, I call you friends and I am more than ready and willing to share my plans and secrets with you. You are not less than! I regard you equal with all mankind.

Song of Songs 1:9

“Loveliest of all…I’m making jewelry for you, gold and silver jewelry, that will mark and accent your beauty.
